Delivery of waste in Port of Alta
All garbage is delivered to waste containers located at Terminalkaien or specially ordered containers.
Garbage charges (waste charges) must be paid by all ships calling at the public wharf, irrespective of whether garbage is delivered from the ship to the waste system.
Leisure boats cannot deliver and will not pay a fee.
The waste fee is from NOK. 75.- to kr. 650, - per. call in 2019 for all ships and includes delivery of 0.5 m3 (cubic meters) of residual waste. It is possible to deliver sorted waste and cardboard.
The fee is invoiced together with the tariff and quay fees. For vessels that can document fixed delivery of waste in another port, a deduction or reduction of fee may be granted upon application.
Oil waste, cargo residues and sewage from ships are delivered to "Finnmark Gjenvinning AS" in Alta at their own expense. Costs of waste and cargo left to Finnmark Gjenvinning or VEFAS Retur AS will be invoiced directly from these. Alta Havn can manage bookings and invoicing for a fee.
